2014 Castellare Di Castellina in China

July, 2014, Mr.Alessandro Cellai, manager of Domini Castellare di Castellina came to visit China again. He bought wines from Castellare di Castellina, Rocca di Frassinello, and Feudi del Pisciotto. As the only representative of these wineries, SinoDrink and Mr.Cellai jointly hosted wine-tasting events in Beijing and Shanghai.

Castellare di Castellina is a company of about 91 hectares in the heart of the Chianti Classico area, it was born in 1968 from the consolidation of five farms.The hectares of vineyard are almost 33. The production is of about 250,000 bottles of wine per year. To a middle altitude of 370 meters above sea level, the vineyards have an age between 5 and 30 years. Castellare is a very well-known winery in the world today, the wines had won many international awards, and many wine lovers and collectors are achieving to collect Castellare wines.

 

July 1, SinoDrink and Bejing Four Season Hotel jointly hosted a wine-tasting event at Mio Italian restaurant, inviting many wine-lovers to enjoy fine wines accompanying with great food. Mr. Alessandro Cellai, the manager and top bartender of Domini Castellare di Castellina, briefly introduced his brand and shared the wine-making technology with guests. SinoDrink bought 5 wines from 3 different wineries, allowing guests to enjoy Italian sublime and beauty.

As the flagship product of Castellare di Castellina, I Sodi di San Niccolo is one of the most well-known wines in the world. It has been awarded as the Top 100 World Wines by Wine Spectator. In Toscana’s local language, Sodi means manual-labor earth, indicating the unique earth for growing high quality grapes. 

July 2, SinoDrink and the House of Roosevelt jointly hosted a dinner-auction event for Castellare di Castellina. Our VIP guests enjoyed 9 wines from 4 different wineries, many of whom also auctioned their favorite wines. 

Domini Castellare di Castellina also owned other vineyards (33 hectares planted since 2002) situated at about 250 meters of altitude and 6km from the sea as the crow flies. It benefits therefore of two climatic moderators: the altitude, where arrive the sea breezes and the sea itself, a great compensator of the temperature. A combination of history and high technology (in the new wine cellar) with the target of reaching the highest levels of the Sicilian high quality production. The winery was given the name Feudi del Pisciotto. Feudi winery collaborated with fashion designers, and adopted fashion brands as wine labels.Feudi wines, therefore, symbolize Italian living styles - Fashion, Food, and Feudi del Pisciotto.

July 3, SinoDrink and Da Marco jointly hosted a Wine Dinner in the name of Castellare di Castellina. Italian chiefs cooked authentic Italian food, which was accompanied by 5 wines from 3 different wineries. Mr. Stefano Beltrame, the Italian Consulate also joined in this event. 

Castellare di Castellina also collaborated with Rothschild-Laftie, and created the brand Rocca di Frassinello. It is the first joint venture between an Italian and French producer and the wines are produced in a region called the Maremma. The wines are finely crafted and the winery different blends of Sangiovese, Tuscany’s trademark grape, and various French varietals.
